One Billion Page Views

Some guy has made a website as part of a bet he made during a game of snooker. The whole point of the website is to get 1,000,000,000 (One Billion) page views.

I love a good challenge, they bet me and said they would gladly give me £1000 if I could make a site that gets One Billion Hits! There was one major clause, I cannot spend a penny in marketing the website, just me, my laptop and nothing else!

I don't think he will make it to one billion this year because he would need about 3,000,000 hits per day for the rest of the year. Click this link to help AJ out.

Also give this site a try http://www.themediaexperiment.com

  • From the site:
Hits counted by statcounter.com, as there are only 6 billion people on the planet, I have set a cookie time between each persons counted hit to 1 hour

He is not counting page views. He is counting visitors.

  • I cant help but feel robbed of an idea! Ive been devloping the site and sratergey for www.themediaexperiment.com since before Xmas and now I find out his site is up. I still consider my idea to be unique in that it really is more of an experiment into the workings of the net than a simple number chase. I have plenty of plans in the pipeline. Checkout my site and blog and bookmark me!

The owner has challenged this site plus anotherone,
    to race one billion hits.
Anyhow, he’s doing this for fun not the money he will win from buddies etc. Is what his blog says.
